Family Promise Modesto

Family Promise of Greater Modesto is an interfaith ministry of nine congregations in the Modesto area that provides temporary shelter and support for finding permanent affordable housing and other family support services to low income families with children. We are committed to helping families in our community to achieve sustainable independence.

In collaboration with 10 congregations in our community we give hope to homeless families with children by :

• Providing safe, temporary housing
• Support services for families to find housing
• Collaborate with other service organizations to support families as they seek employment and housing

Our goal is to address the causes of our families’ homelessness then link them to programs and services that will help the families return to a self-sustaining life. We only serve families with children so we can help minimize the difficulty and damage that children face when their families face homelessness.

Family Promise of Greater Modesto is free to families in the program. Our families save 75% of their resources for their first month’s rent and other expenses they will incur when they find and move into permanent housing.
